What is microblading?

Microblading is a semi-permanent technique that draws fine, hair-like strokes to fill in and define the brow with a natural-looking result. It is not make-up you wash off at night: the pigment stays in the skin and fades gradually over the months. That is why many clients choose it when they have sparse areas, very thin brows or are tired of filling their brows in every morning.

What the appointment includes

1. Assessment: Elizabeth looks at your natural brow and your skin, and you talk through the result you want and the most suitable technique.
2. Brow design (face mapping): before any pigment goes in, the brow shape is drawn to suit your face. Nothing starts until you are happy with the design.
3. Pigmentation: the fine strokes, or the technique you chose, are applied over the approved design.
4. Aftercare instructions: when we finish, you get the full guidelines for the first few days.

How long microblading lasts

Usually between 12 and 18 months. There is no exact figure, because it depends on your skin and how you look after it:

• Oily skin: pigment tends to fade sooner.
• Sun: frequent sun exposure makes the colour lose intensity.
• Facial treatments: some treatments on the area can make the pigment fade faster.

When the colour starts to soften, a touch-up session (€90) refreshes it without starting from scratch.

Microblading aftercare

What you do in the first few days has a big effect on how the colour settles. These are the basics; we give you the full instructions at the salon:

• Keep the area dry for the first few days.
• Do not put make-up or other products on your brows.
• Do not scratch or pick at any small scabs that appear.
• Avoid the sun, saunas and swimming pools.

Before you book

Microblading is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or on irritated or broken skin.
